About Calvin

Calvin Ma serves as Co-founder at Effex, contributing strategic insight across business operations, financial management, and market expansion. An experienced builder and operator, his versatile skill set and entrepreneurial mindset have been instrumental in shaping Effex into a thriving AI transformation company.

With over 15 years of experience across finance, accounting, investment, and technology, Calvin brings a rare combination of strategic thinking and financial execution. He has spent over a decade in high-growth tech startups across the APAC region, successfully leading the launch and scaling of new businesses, markets, and products while demonstrating a proven track record of full P&L ownership.

At Effex, Calvin focuses on building sustainable, scalable operations, drawing on his strong commercial acumen to support the company’s strategic growth. Since 2019, he has been serving as Co-COO at Pickupp. Previously, Calvin spent four years at Uber in a regional operations capacity.

Earlier in his career, Calvin built a solid financial foundation in investment management at a leading asset management firm and in assurance at PwC. He is a member of the HKICPA and holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
